re: Stockpiles
Just keep in mind that a hundred tons of a liquid approximately as dense as water would fill about 435 55-gallon drums. This is about ten truckloads, or fewer if they didn't take hauling precautions for hazardous materials.
435 drums, dunnage-stacked in three tiers, would occupy a space approximately 70 feet by 140 feet, and be less than 8 feet tall.
As another comparison, a thousand tons of water is about that amount required to fill a large Olympic-sized swimming pool.
To hear some people talk, you'd think a weapons stockpile would look the NASA Vehicle Assembly Building.
