I am actually astonished that there have been no other attacks, not even on U.S. overseas facilities, since 9/11. The first Fourth of July after 9/11 I was on the road traveling near Reno. I had radiation detection equipment in my car.

We spent the night in a border town between Utah and Nevada, with casinos crowded up like parade watchers to a big white line down the center of the road marking the state line.

There was a fireworks display that night, that we watched from the edge of a rocky ravine. It was great, and nothing bad happened. Then, or since.

The number of ways one could accomplish a low-level attack (car bombings, etc.) in America, are legion. I can think of about a half-dozen foolproof methods just standing on one foot. What's going on?

Now, if there are no attacks prior to the election, I will be thunderstruck. What would that mean?
