It doesn't take much hacking to bring a system down. It would be a little more difficult to say, change all the Excel files in thousands of computers to alter the numbers slightly.
I'm also amused by the assumption that just because the CEO of Diebold is Republican, that somehow all the hackers, vote-wreckers, script kiddies, and all the rest will somehow alter the vote in the Republican's favor. I don't see that logical connection.
