The Russians beat the Germans.

Actually, everyone working together beat the Germans, but the Russians did most of it. See where the Russians were on June 6, 1944.

The US participated. It's natural to believe the US did it all, or most of it, as we live in the US and read the stuff of interest to us.

Without the US the Russians would have had a longer time of it, by far.

Without the Russians, the Germans might well have "won".
