Europe is eating its seed corn as far as productivity is concerned. Enjoy your long vacations. At some point, the rich people are going to run out of loot.

It might be interesting to go through the Fortune Global 500 European companies mentioned in Rifkin's article, and find out how many were associated with a product, technology or service invented in Europe.
