Robert, re-read my post, I wasnt disagreeing with you- it was entitled 'devils advocate'

No kidding you observed Europeans who seemed more content! They get to spend time with their families if they want to. Isn't it ironic that conservatives in America champion "family values" while celebrating a system that puts tremendous pressure on families?

That was my point, Robert.... ummm if you want to just assume I am a right wing nut go ahead, I cant stop you... I am pretty far left...

as I said, its a matter of personal priorities...

As to why you cant have professional success AND happiness, I did not say it wasnt possible... just that the two are in conflict often... Some manage to do it... but it is hard.

I have been in hawaii 2 years, number of times I have swam in the ocean- zero... So much for having a cool job, eh, ebnelson?

I do like what I do, but the stress is a high price to pay... time on the scope costs a dollar a second, so cancelling a run because you are feeling ill means you have to be VERY ill.... I have worked up there with near pneumonia, coughing my lungs out....
