Somethings to think about...

I have two friends with perfectly working typewriters of 1960s vintage with good ribbons (one is only a block away).

If I have access to two possible machines for doing forgeries wouldn't the perpetrator also have similar access?

Wouldn't they realize the difference? There are PDFs of Bush's actual records out there to see.

Besides, I bet there is software around where you can simulated typewrites using your PC (Dryfire it would seems allows you to select fixed-spaced and typewriter fonts). They also could have used Photoshop and place each letter individually.

If it is a forgery it is like they wanted to be caught.
