It's just as likely, given all the complication I'm reading here, that the Republicans planted forgeries (if they truly are), let CBS take the bait, and the next day came out with their forgery expert, hoping to make the Dems look desperate. History has shown the Repubs are clearly the cagier and dirtier fighters in major political battles. Altered documents, stolen emails, scare tactics have been much more prevalent in Republican ranks than Democrat. That's not saying the Dems are lilly-white. They simply have a different MO - sex scandals, coverups of drug usage, accusations of racism.
I still say that what people did during the Vietnam War to try to avoid getting sent into an unjust fight is alright by me, including going to Canada. I know what my own feelings were near the end of that campaign and they differed quite a bit from when the war was in its infancy. Because of that I also can't fault Kerry for changing his views upon his return. We as a nation went from being scared out of our asses about the Domino Theory to believing our nation had completely misrepresented world affairs and wasted countless young lives.
