Have you ever seen the cast off, worn out crap that the National Guard was stuck with back then?

Today, the Guard and Reserves have frontline equipment. That wasn't the case back in the early 1970s. They had to make do with old, worn out equipment up to and including the planes they flew. You didn't see a lot of good equipment of any kind in those units, including office equipment. Ordinary typewriters were the order of the day. Why pay more for "pretty printing" proportional typewriters, especially for routine memos.

re: IBM's were not rare in 1970s and the type is to blurred to positively identify it. But if forged seems pretty stupid not to have used common fonts easly picked up on web. (n/t) - Chris Vancil - 9/9/2004 11:08:10 PM
