DL- I see, not a fact, but worth killing for?
If it proves to be true, then yes. Removing Saddam and bringing freedom to Iraq is worth killing for. And that pretty much says it all for me.
And that goes for points 1, and 2.
DL- Point 3 is: well duh! And Don't you feel silly, too!
No. Considering Saddam had parts for enriching uranium hidden away for later use, along with a couple of tons of uranium.
DL- Point 4: No, nothing remains to be seen, and people in state employ with practical knowledge of WMD construction is NOT a WMD program.
Keep ignoring the evidence. Keep your head in the sand. Considering that Saddam had and used WMD and he had everything needed to make more, you are a fool if you don’t think he was going to make more the first chance he got.
That is like an arsonist with matches, a can of gasoline and a pile of wood. He hasn’t started the fire yet, but he is waiting until no one is looking.
DL- Point 5: Dubious as to their usefullness, dubious that anyone even knew what/where they were. and in any case, inconsistent with the justification for this war. 12 shells does not an active program make.
Fact is they were banned WMD, and they were lethal. If they found thousands of these, will that be enough for you? Saddam told the UN he got rid of all them.
Point 6: How much of weaponized, refined or realistically weaponizeable? None.
What were they doing with it? Where did it come from? Are you comfortable with a madman having a couple of tons of uranium to play with.
DL- Point 7: No, there were not. Saying there was doesn't make it so. Unconfirmed Hints and allegations of possible meetings is not 'ties'. Dream on.
Yes there is. There is good evidenced. Saying its not does not make it so. Dream on.
DL- as to 'take a look in the mirror': Sorry, REB, who turned out to be right in almost every claim made about Iraq pre-war? I did.
You have not been proven right. The Iraq/Al Qaeda link issue is still open, as is the WMD. Just because you want you predictions to be right does not make them right.
DL Why is that the case? Because I rested my claims on the data available. Go back, check the record if you like. Everything I said has bourne out. Find where I was wrong in any prediction. Go ahead, I dare you. While you are at it, why don't you find all the places you claimed those 7 items as "Its a fact", whereas now your backing off and saying something different. Like I said- you believe what you feel like believing, even if its inconsistent with what you felt like believing yesterday.
Who is backing down? I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong- I have proved that here before. And I will not stand up for something I believe is wrong.
You continue to ignore there is good evidence of an Al Qaeda/Iraq link. You continue to ignore that Iraq had everything for a WMD program. Is this because you want you predictions to be true so badly that you don’t want to consider they may not be. You had it in your mind early on that there were no WMD and no Al Qaeda link so you refused to consider any new evidence. You made up you mind long ago.
Right now, there is still evidence of an Iraq/Al Qaeda link that has not been disproven. If it proves that evidence is wrong, then I’ll accept that. Will you accept if it turns out to be right?
With WMD, I know they are still searching the sands of Iraq. Last I heard they were searching. Seeing that Iraq had everything needed to make WMD, and seeing that Saddam had and used WMD to kill thousands, IMO we were just for making sure he would never do it again.
DL- No, Just to you and a few others like you- I'm just hateful to people who endorsed a war on purely emotional non-rational grounds and then seek to shut up those who disagreed by shouting them down and hurling half-truths and gross exaggerations while trying to re-write history. The war are on you REB, even though it doesn't even scratch your silvery metallic dense surface. In fact, it probably makes you puff with pride, like soo many dealers of death before you. You feel righteous, so why bother being right? Go drink your own flavor-aide, I aint got none for you here.
Have you considered you might be wrong. I have considered I might be wrong. I have tried to keep an open mind and listen to both sides. Do you? I have seen no evidence of that.
How many people died for the freedom you inherited. You may not think bringing freedom to Iraq is worth it. You do not see how a free Iraq could end terrorism coming from the Middle East or you would see a value in this fight.
DL- And I never said I was compassionate, just a liberal.
That I believe.

You certainly act like it is a fact.
