None of the 9/11 terrorists came from Iraq. The current most dangerous terrorist in Iraq isn't Iraqi but Jordanian, who went to Iraq but in an area Saddam didn't control.
So, a bunch of terrorists, from various countries, organize the deadliest attack ever, and the US in response, invades and occupies a country that had nothing to do with the New York tragedy.
All the hostage taking, all the insurgency, all the terrorism in Iraq took place after the US invaded Iraq.
This is why the ROW obviously undestands the US started the war in Iraq. All the chaos took place because of the US presence in Iraq, because nationalism is a force stronger than anyone could have imagined. These are the causes, consequences and context.
Isn't the US army supposed to defend the US territory? What is it doing in a country, halfway around the world, where no weapons powerful enough to threaten its neighbours or the US were found? And more, it's stuck out there!!
Why not return back home ASAP?
After all, three possibilities come to mind.
-There is relative peace as the invaders are gone and the Iraqis can finally mind their own business (the irony is that everyone says that's what must happen...but no, not now!! Come on...).
-There is a civil war but the Iraqis have been sufficiently well trained and say they'll solve it themselves.
-There's a civil war and the Iraqis ask for international help...The UN! An international force, under command from the UN would help ease the tension.
None of those possibilities will give the Iraqis the impression they are being invaded by a foreign country, especially if the UN soldiers are from western and mainly arab countries who's interest is a stable Iraq.
