Tom, if there's this overwhelming power of nationized health care beating down the opposition and you feel it's inevitable, then why not join in on the planning to put some major restrictions in place instead of being an outsider throwing some ineffective punches?
I don't want a system where every soccer mom who's little Billy has a runny nose can run to the government instead of dealing with the problem herself. That syndrome is also one of the big reasons our insurance costs so much these days. No system is going to be perfect but maybe the Dems would be willing to put some restrictions in it if they didn't feel they had to ask for the world to counter the absolutionist right.
Using extremism to go against an idea causes the extremism on the other side to simply entrench and build their plan bigger to ward off the inevitable attacks.
The one thing you didn't address by the way is the fact that I perceive that we're already paying the costs of national health care. How does any private plan deal with the people that simply give up? Do we simply start letting them die?

If you're certain it's going to happen, why not help craft it then?
