..and we'd better not stop.
We just have to enhance our wisdom regarding it.
I use an analogy between planetary health and individual health. For our bodies, we need to follow sound environmental and lifestyle practices, but we also use mechanical augmentation (eg, eyeglasses), preventative biochemical alterations (vaccines), trauma and structural weakness repair, etc. Only in the past century has such intervention significantly increased the odds of benefit to any individual.
Treat the planet the same way. Live clean. Adjust physical objects and energy flow as needed. Relieve stresses prior to sudden catastrophic breakdowns. Ward off external trauma.
Problem is, how do we 'practice' (and get it wrong the first million times, as interventionist medicine did)? Now we have the tools -- simworlds. Ersatz patients we can mess with, and kill, until we get smart enough to try it for real.
And keep John ('Stand up and walk!') Edwards more than a heartbeat away from the Oval Office <grin>.

We already mess with Mother Nature...
