Huntsman

After many years of dealing with these things, I offer the following advice:-

They are territorial, and if you throw them out of the house, they will come back again. This is especially true when a pair have taken up residence. Dad will always come home to Mom and vice versa.

if you throw them BOTH out, they both come back to look after the kids - initially an egg sac but later dozens and dozens of tiny replicas of their parents, swarming all over the walls and ceiling.

I'm told their bite is not poisonous, just large and painful!

There is only one cure - death.

Sprays are a bit slow to work on such a large beast, and unpleasant to watch. My sister swears by a vacuum cleaner, which sucks them up and spits them into a tidy bag for later disposal. But be careful, sometimes they crawl back out of the trash, Schwarzenegger style with a leg or two missing, muttering "I'll be back". I prefer to trap them in a pint glass and carry them to instant death via the boiling water tap.

That way, I know they'll never be back...
