The fine dust and very dry conditions will kill about any arthopod or insect from the dehydration and the compromise of the exoskeleton by the effects of the dust.
Plus, for venemous creatures, it keeps their dangerous bits out of harm's way.
Spiders are resistant to insect sprays, since they are not insects. Spiders are very good insect predators. Unless they can hurt people, or have bred out of control, I generally suggest leavnig them alone.
