Gees, Tom you sound mad. Only time will tell how much Bush has messed up recruiting for our military. All the folks I personally know in Iraq or Afghanistan say they plan on leaving the military when their time is up.
I don't think I've dodge you argument.
Some Muslims would surely feel the invasion of Afghanistan unjustified and would have been recruited, but other would have see al Qaeda controlling the place and seen the line of our thought.
The problem is we then invade Iraq a place with many holy sites and have suggested we plan on invading other places all in the Middle East. Put yourself in the place of a young Iranian or Syrian. Poor angry frustrated with our overwhelming force wants to hurt us but can only do so by joining in terrorism. Here are just a few of the holy places in Iraq...Shrine of Imam Ali al-Hadi an-Naqi, Shrine of Imam Hassan al-ASkari, Shrine of Imam Mahdi al-Hussayn, Shrine Abbas, Shrine of Imam Mahdi al-Qaim Sahibuz Zaiman and Maqam Gaibt Imam Zamana. Iran and Syria have lots more.
Please tell me if you find any holy places for Muslim's in Afghanistan.
