Kerry is not going to unite this country either. He and people like you and Bowser have caused me to become disgusted with a party I frequently voted for. Imagine what he will do for those already solidly Republican. Kerry could have had my vote since I disagree with Bush on most domestic issues and voted against Bush's dad primarily to prevent the supreme court from going socially conservative, but his stance on Iraq is such a load of crap that I will not vote to put this country's security in his obviously inept hands. There are a lot of Americans who feel similarly about security. The polls show a huge majority feel this way.
Kerry is only close because the economy carries nearly equal weight and Bush has done a sorry job there. The natural economic cycle has masked Bush's inept management enough that Kerry does not dominate that issue as solidly as Bush dominates security but he also wins slightly on many other less important issues. If Kerry wins, those that feel security is the top priority will remain strongly opposed to Kerry as he attempts to carry out policies that already failed under Clinton. Who will be a better uniter is a non issue in this election as neither man is one.

Mark
