I don't even understand your response. Are you likening the invasion of Afghanistan, the home base of al Qaeda, to imposing trade sanctions?

I don't know how to make it any clearer:

The invasion of Afghanistan would have made Islamic terrorists our enemies for life no matter what we did in Iraq.
