Stated to plant the ideas that, though left-leaning academics are generally more careful about their words, scratch them and they are all bullying liars, as depicted in the story.
An overgeneralization which is itself a lie. But a subtle one.
Incidentally, the professors the article discusses are not, for the most part, Marxists, but Arab nationalists. Their grounds for being pissed off are much different than Marxists' are.
