Those who can do, those that can't teach? I know this applies to a lot of PhD instructors but certainly not top researchers. It also applied to a lot of the less gifted MRS degree pursuers back when I went to school. Teaching is a wonderful job for those with the true gift and spirit for the job, but we've all run into those for whom it is just a job.
