Don't trust the numbers on Falcon I

I have heard some high quality insider gossip that Falcon I is being run as a loss leader. Falcon I's customer price is well below its actual cost to SpaceX. Elon Musk has a fair amount of PayPal money that he's prepared to spend on the Falcon I to achieve market penetration. A cursory study of the Super Strypi's simple solid rocket motor design versus the Falcon I's liquid fuel design shows there is no way the Falcon I could be cheaper. However I suspect the difference is mute because there is really no market for either booster.
