Spin

Of course I'd read Oliver North's article on Fallujah. And I probably could write it for him, with Richard Perle coaching me.

Is it possible that some of the "insurgents" killed these people?
Possibly. But I think they were busy covering THEIR asses.
Do I believe many got shot in the river trying to flee? You bet.
Do I beleive many got shot because they couldn't speak English or obey hand signals? You bet.
Do I think Fallujah was a massacre of sorts? You bet.

I spoke recently with a special forces soldier who got back from Iraq several months ago. He even agreed that Fallujah was a tough one and that soldiers coming back from that, might be really messed up psychologically.
Instead of complaining, and turning the blame around, can we not look at the carnage and the destruction for what it is? The result of a failed policy....maybe even a big "woops!'?

Nothing worse than what Sadam was doing?
Except maybe leaving the infrastructure intact?
And not helping to bankrupt our country and poke holes in the once proud nature od our armed forces?
And for what??
There are 300,000 people from Fallujah HOMELESS in winter.
Does that ring a bell for you?
Shall I throw in the abuses of Abu Garaib for good measure?

WE ARE NOT WINNING THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS.
And the "bringing them democracy" schlock is not working either.
Admit it.

How about WMD?
You're a hard head, Tom; sitting there waving your American flag from your lofty perch. When will what we do in massive destruction and taking lives indiscrimanately satisfy your sense of revenge?
