All spokes lead to the same hub, and get no further than the hub, or the rim, ultimatley unable to perceive beyond the wheel.
When I was in sunday school, I too had the question, "what created god?" The answer: "that's part of the divine mystery."
When I was in college, I too had the question "what preceded the big bang?" To which was replied, "we have no evidence nor theory to explain that, yet."
I have pusued both paths, science and spirituality, in an effort to find comfort with those ultimate questions, knowing that I'd never find more than a small reflection of the answer. In the meantime I've focused on less-than-ultimate questions to satiate my curiosity. How was this rock formed, how do I deal with suffering, how has the planet changed with time, how do I express joy, how do I fix this or cure that, how do I deal with difficult people....?
Maybe it's in solving the smaller problems that we find comfort with the unknowable.
And we keep asking questions, collecting data, speculating, Theorizing, predicting, testing, and starting all over again.
Spokes on a wheel.
