"Q.E.D." (sometimes written "QED") is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase "quod erat demonstrandum" ("that which was to be demonstrated"), a notation which is often placed at the end of a mathematical proof to indicate its completion.
I supposed you proved that some people "would begin to try and write Bush out of it, as surely as they have tried to write Reagan out of the Cold War victory.", but that's not the same as proving that Bush and Regan were actually responsible for the events in question.
Bush and Reagan have a lot in common - both are orators with a common touch, but unfortunatley both are also buffons.
