Death Valley

Death Valley is truly beautiful. I spent 5 days hiking through all those canyons and some sites not listed like Natural Bridges which one bridge has a 50 foot high undercut eroded by water flow. I wish I could have spent more time there but after hiking about 7 miles a day my wife had enough.

If you ever go I recommend early spring to take advantage of the cooler weather and a visit to Scotty's Castle a short detour on the way to Ubehebe Crater and The Race Track. The only drawback to visiting the Race Track in spring is snow as we had to make the 30 mile drive (one-way) in fourwheel drive on a slushy washed out road. At Ubehebe Crater you can walk down 800 feet to the bottom for an interesting view and close observation of the crater walls.

Death Valley is one place I wouldn't hesitate returning to.
