Courts rely on expert testimony of doctors all the time, whether for capital cases or for something like the Shiavo case. The judges and jurors make their decisions (within the law) based on exactly what Mary Anne quoted.
It is very unfortunate that the family could not keep this mess out of the courts, altogether. Most of these decisions are made without going to court.
But why do all of you guys think that all of the judges who have gone through all of the evidence, got it wrong over and over and over again?????? Why do you think Mary Anne is nuts for having an opinion that agrees with the courts? And why do you think that I am nuts for thinking it is in the perview of the courts, and for not second-guessing their decision?
