BTW, "all of you guys" is the very kind of generalization that you and others love to agonize over.
1. I am not saying they are wrong, only that it is a difficult question and courts have gotten things wrong in the past, as both sides of the political spectrum like to point out. In spite of that, the fact that this has been held up all the way to the Supreme Court is a strong case for the legitimacy of the outcome.
2. I don't think MA is nuts. I was simply raising another issue that troubles me. Namely, the special treatment that this case has seen vs the many others that are not and will not be affected. The issue of Teri's life has been hung on hearsay regarding her will and on the wishes of others. Other similar cases will go on being fed through tubes and will live out their natural lives.
3. I don't think you are nuts either. Like it or not, it is in the perview of the courts but second guessing the courts is also okay or do you now believe that the 2000 election ruling was beyond second guessing or that hundreds of decisions made based on best available knowledge at the time should not be second guessed?
