You accuse the Democratic Party of alliance with the Soviet Union. This is not true.

Really? I don't know if "alliance" is the word I'd use. I do know that in the latter parts of the Cold War, in relations between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R., when Reagan proposed a particular negotiating position or policy, and it was countered by a Soviet position or policy, that the Democrats would universally oppose Reagan's position, and often take the Soviet position. Does this mean they supported the Soviets? Who knows? In their own minds, I'm sure they thought no such thing. That they were being "diplomatic" in appeasing the Soviets.

Disarmament, Soviet incursions into other countries, missile negotiations, SDI, trade, you name it. The Democrats took the same side consistently.

It's much the same situation with many Democrats and Iraq.

They honestly don't want the terrorists and insurgents to win, but they sure as hell want Bush and the military to fail. It takes a certain kind of brain to hold both of these ideas at the same time, but apparently there are a lot of brains like that in the leadership of the party.

BTW, do you honestly think that if the U.S. had taken a "hands-off" position in Nicaragua, that they would have held elections at all?
