Sloppy thinking. if one pound of ethanol is used to make one pound of ethanol its self sufficient. If it takes half a pound you make 2 pounds per pound and you can rapidly build an inventory. Can't explain the mental lapse. A 34% excess still builds over time. It only takes about 1.5 cycles rather than one cycle to double the inventory.
