Every time a US submarine dives under the water, hundreds of sailors put their lives at risk to protect you and me. Why?
Are they wasting their effort because a threat against them or us may not be "Clear and Present"? Is their nobel work cheapened in some way because you and Michael Moore can't think of a valid reason for them to be there?
How are those sailors different than our soldiers in Iraq? Both jobs are very dangerous, and both protect you, me, and millions of others.
