I don't know your background to instruct me on this, but I attended the US Naval Academy and later became a USAF pilot in the Air Training Command. I think this makes it rather difficult for you to fit me into the paradigm of leftists being anti-military, don't you?
And I think it much easier to generalize about neocons than liberal Democrats. Neocon Republicans speak with pretty much the same voice and are on the same page over issues. Democrats are rarely in agreement and are fragmented in addressing any position. Democrats seem to delight in the Mark Twain dictum advised when he said, "I don't belong to any organized political party!........I'm a Democrat!"
And I think that very well explains the modern Democrat, at least from my perspective.
