That was a GOOD hypnagogic dream.

The bad ones were a little freaky. Had one last week that was very unsettling. I FORCED myself to wake up, because I had been dreaming I was awake. I peaked out from my sleep mask and saw the boots and camoflage pants of a man with a rifle standing at the edge of my bed. I was paralysed and couldn't move....I thought "What the hell?". It was so alarming, I wondered if I COULD be dreaming, and I forced myself awake. Thankfully it was all a dream.

We have yet to explore the mind and why it does what it does while we're dreaming. And what IS "dreaming?" What purpose does it serve?
