re "far bigger problems"

A bigger problem for me is your relentless posting of material which appears to cheerlead the eventual disappearance of human consciousness - you would maybe say transcendence, but let's face it, you really mean disappearance. This latest offering of pure and useless speculation is more of the same. If we get so familiar with technology or science it becomes automatic and we don't need to give it a second thought, that doesn't necessarily mean the disappearance of thought, or consciousness. Only someone deeply emotionally deprived would seriously consider that as a proposition. And yet here's this overqualified moron presuming to pronounce exactly that - without any serious study or understanding of what it means to be conscious, or how inherently valuable consciousness really is, TO US, WHO ARE WRITING ABOUT IT.

Pure and utter drivel, and by the way not suitable for a 'Space Sciences' Board in my opinion. Your speculative references (as I say, not even your own original offerings) don't even rank with SDAI's speculations. At least he bothered to write his own stuff.

I used to like your posts but you're really losing me by now.
