In a truly infinite universe...your scenario and Gary's can pan out to some degree. Once you realize that an infinite universe mandates parallel ones of endless varieties with new ones springing up all the time, eventually every conceivable notion is addressed somewhere...

Imagine that a single universe can spring forth from a careless thought. Or conversely, that each thought is a universe unto itself...

;-)

You and Gary are the creators/gods - you just don't realize it yet.
