How we see ourselves is a far cry from how we are perceived.
When I started working on children's ward at 18, I asked more questions than a lawyer. It drove one nurse crazy, and she thought I was an idiot. ( I read body language like I do a good book....plus rolling her eyes helped convey the message.)
By the time I learned the ropes, she always asked me to work the shifts she had head nurse duties.
I ask questions. Alot. I want to understand people more than I need to have my ego stroked.
I have great initiative but boy has that been met with great rancor at times. It is a balancing act because some people will take whatever you are willing to give of yourself, plus more.
I am a doer of finding out by asking questions.;)

- Are you an asker...or a doer?
- My only possible answer based on the question, as it is posed
- So you're asking first, and explaining later?
- Well well..
- Like any other frail human who is a responsible member of a civilized society...
- The question makes no sense to me. n/t
- I think you need a few more specifics.
- Journalist: Are you mod...or a rocker?
