Timothy Leary and Leary Levels

Leary was a very accomplished psychologist before he dropped out. One of the things he did was establish "Leary Levels". He asked people what they thought of themselves, checking or not checking a long list of adjectives. Level !. Then he asked how they thought others see them. Level 2. Then, I believe, he asked those people how they saw the subject. Level 3.

The comparisons are incredible. Absolutely incredible. People who saw themselves as honest, kind, hard-working and insightful were very often seen by others as exactly the opposite.

How do you explain the differences? That was a way to see inside a mind and personality.
