"Its not rocket science. Its good public policy. Even if the science isn't 100% certain about global warming, we know for certain that these green house gasses are hazardous to human health. It will take decades to reverse the trends human activity has set in motion. Mr. Bush has squandered his opportunity during his first term in office to make a difference. Its high time he got started before the consequences of current public policies and indifference are irreversible. Being poliitical about what we do with nature is entirely natural."
Well, got one thing right Donald: "it's not rocket science".
As far as "good public policy" I suppose you mean Bush should have somehow tried to convince the Senate to ratified Kyoto. Something Clinton and woody Gore didn't do in 8 years in office. But I suppose that these 8 year weren't squandered, according to the Donald the blind partisan hack. But let's journey into Donald fantasy land and imagine that due Bush's special abilities, he got the Senate to ratify Kyoto because this is good public policy. Since the time that other countries have signed this agreement they have spent around 80 billions dollars, and have done very little to affect CO2 emissions. The only country I'm aware of which get carbon credit is Russia- that's because it's population is shrinking and corruption is rampaging throughout the country. New Zealand thought they would get money from carbon credit, but the reality is they going to spent money paying for credits. And Japan, Canada, and Europe aren't meeting their targets. There is little doubt that if the US had signed this treaty we would not met our targets. The result of all this this is that the US would be require to give tens of billions of dollars per year to the corrupt Russian govt. Not because Russia is actually doing anything to lower CO2. This would made the Oil for Food program seem utterly insignificant in comparison. And instead of total so far of around 80 billion spent doing nothing about CO2 emission with the US part of this treaty, the total at least double this amount probably more like triple this amount.
Instead Bush administration is actually working with countries to do things which will actually have affect upon reducing CO2 emission in the future, but Donald doesn't see this as good policy.
