Since this post has its basis in a NASA photo, it did not seem to me so off-topic, but this is a trivial point.
Perhaps I can help with conduct of inquiry:
There are two items to look into here: the photo, and the technician who enhanced it.
Firstly, is this photo, in its original physical condition, available to anyone in the space science industry and/or to anyone on this forum?
Secondly, has Liz Edwards worked with NASA or elsewhere in the industry, and does she professionally know what she is doing?
I had hoped that someone at HabZone would have the contacts to ascertain this.
Regarding Tom's statement, sure, any amateur knows what he mentioned. Certainly Liz Edwards knows. A professional also knows how to deal with the nature of pixels, knows the limits of accurate resolution, etc.
So, setting aside all extraneous emotion, does anyone at HabZone have the contacts/knowledge whereby my queries could be conclusively answered? If not, then HabZone is of no help, which is somewhat of a disappointment.
Sorry, Mary Anne, for requiring you to copy and paste the link; and thanks for your input.
