Mary Anne, I really had no preconceptions about the geometry. My main aim was to understand how enhancements are done. What density of pixels is carried over into files that can be posted, in comparison to the original density beamed in from an orbiting camera? What kind of software can be used to make decisions about "corrections" to photos? What procedure of enhancement is trustworthy? I would still like to see some Zone member's enhancement of the photo in question.
In addition to the above, by wading ankle-deep into the contaminated waters of shadowworld at the perimeter of scientific pursuit, I was testing the stomachs of some of Zone's mainstream posters. There is a bundle of tastes and preferences which defines a comfort zone (habitable zone?) for scientific professionals; this is interesting to explore.
