First approximation

The page whose URL you give was last updated March 17, 1998 -- seven and a half years ago.

I would guess, without looking first, that the photograph of the Martian south pole Ms. Edwards has magnified beyond its resolution is still available to the public, somewhere in NASA's vast databases -- even if the link she provided on her page has been broken for years.

If I were seriously interested in pursuing the underlying question -- "What can be seen at the south pole of Mars?" -- I would be looking at the Mars Global Surveyor/Mars Orbiter Camera Image Gallery.

Given the dates, the photograph in question may well be one of theirs.
