International law and the UN are not competent for what's going inside a country.
There is a principle (dating back before the US was created) that is called non interference with internal matters of sovereign states.
This is what Hitler violated in 1939 and this is the basis for the UN (chart number one) and this is what Bush violated too.
He couldn't use the proof Saddam was a threat to the world because the UN saw to it he wasn't. The US weapons inspectors could not prove the UN wrong.
