Hollywood, Inc.
Find a major motion picture where a big businessman is presented as anything but a crook. Last one I saw was "Robots," and it was a cartoon.
All you're objecting to, Tom, is thousands of years of story-telling tradition. The story of David and Goliath has drama and human interest only if Goliath is the bad guy. Reverse it, and all you have is farce. People are drawn to stories about characters to whom they can relate, and are inspired by those stories when the character overcomes formidable odds. Where's the drama and human interest in a story about a poweful person steamrollering the weak?
I hate to break it to you, but "Hollywood" is an industry driven by the highest of human aspirations, profit (translated into RightSpeak). Their market is a mass market consisting overwhelmingly of people who are not CEOs and are not wealthy. Why would they invest millions of dollars making a movie with an audience only in the thousands?
Actually, come to think of it, you missed an example: Aviator. Howard Hughes necessarily comes off as a whackjob, but not a villain. There's an example of a character's human weaknesses and personal demons breathing some human interest into a story that otherwise would be nothing more interesting than an "Another Rich Guy Cleans Up" documentary.
