Aircraft structures are light by design

Jet airliners aren't built any stronger than they need to be because extra strenght means extra weight, which translates to reduced payload and/or higher fuel consumption. Even a heavy plane hitting a solidly built building like the Pentagon is going to crumple to a large degree. Planes aren't tanks. They aren't built to run into things.

I was at a meeting a couple months ago with a man whose brother was killed in the Pentagon. The brother's wife gave birth to their second child about a month later. A year later, she died of cancer, so the man and his wife are raising his brother's children. My next door neighbor was in the Pentagon on 9/11, only he was on the other side of the building. Thousands of people work in the Pentagon and were there that day. Approximately 100 people were killed and many more were wounded. Kooks who spout moronic conspiracy theories need to have their heads examined.
