re: Controlled demolitions

Lindy, what do you know about the materials used in airplanes? In essence they're like eggshells except they're made of very thin and lightweight metals. From what I know of the Pentagon, it's one of those fortress-like buildings with very thick brick or stone walls. A crash between lightweight aluminum and a few feet of rock is hardly a fair fight.

Also, as far as the hole you saw in the front of the building, remember that when a bullet strikes a target, the entry wound is always tiny. It's the exit wound that shows the devastation of the strike.

Now, about someone possibly packing the planes with explosives to increase the damage. Think about that one. The routes that the hijackers picked are pretty much public knowledge way ahead of time but what aircraft the airlines use on them are often chosen day to day based on maintenance, delays, etc. It would've been very tough for someone to be able to place explosives on the plane just before it took off. If you were planning that action you'd probably want to do it much earlier. The odds of knowing which plane to target are pretty low. Tons of jet fuel make a pretty good bomb anyway. There really is no need to supplement.
