Tell ya what: I'll stand down if you will. That is, if you'll agree to laws that limit the size of corporate entities to a more egalitarian level, say $100 million in revenue, and corporations that reach that level must be split, and antitrust laws are strengthened to block their natural tendency to recoalesce like little Terminator Mk II globs; then I'll agree to proportional constraints on the size of government. Sound fair?
This is the kind of two-dimensional thinking that's part of the problem. Size is irrelevant. Microsoft is a huge corporation, yet absolutely nothing keeps me from buying a Mac or a Linux system if I want one. For years, Microsoft's total political donations were in the hundreds of thousands range. Then the government hauled Bill Gates in, and told him they could destroy his company at their whim if he didn't play ball. Donations are up considerably.
You seem to have a lot of ideas on how to cripple the private sector. What are your specifics on how you would roll back government? Especially since your proposed laws on maximum company size and, no doubt, many other shackles on business size and power that you have in mind, actually represent a huge increase in government power?
What government powers would you eliminate in your turn?
