It takes two to make a partisan death spiral, that's for sure.
It also takes two to perpetuate a feud, and I've been looking ahead to the day that power changes hands again, and thinking about trying to handle it gracefully and perhaps breaking the Hatfield-McCoy cycle of tit-for-tat. No need to rub Republican noses in their fall from power when it happens. History runs in cycles, and the problem after that will be Democrats behaving just as badly. They'll study the Republican playbook to win, but then it's "see the new boss, same as the old boss". We need to get out of this rut. We the people, that is...they the politicians built the status quo and they like it just fine. True reform can't come from within the parties.
