The "how could you SAY such a thing!" regurgitation is a common technique used on me at some other boards when the person has no real argument. One poster's favorite bit is "SHAME on you!" Like some blue-haired old lady. It probably works in their peer group discussions where approval and fitting in with the crowd ranks a lot higher than evidence.
