Worshipping Chavez

I've yet to read any story about Cindy lighting some Novena candle to Venezuela's president elect. Were I in the position she's found herself in, I'd probably do some traveling around the world to research for myself what's bullshit and what's not. We've been spoonfed this image of Chavez by the Bush administration that puts him on a level with the Anti-Christ and it's pretty clear it's a distorted view or the guy would never be able to be elected in a DEMOCRATIC country. Is he a saint? Hell no, but my guess is that he's somewhere in the middle with traits of most world leaders.

I'd be curious to find out for myself if the enemy of a president you have zero respect for was actually the bad guy portrayed by the administration. I've never fully trusted the press even when they seemed to come down more often on the side of the party I most identified with. There's this element of the entertainment business that's so ratings oriented that it removes considerable credibility from news organizations. I don't trust the opinions of most national politicians either. Most put their loyalty to the party and to special interests above the interests of the country.

Why this hatred of Chavez, just cause he's vocal about American policies? Far as I can see, he's not sending terrorists over our borders. He's not detaining American citizens visiting his country. He's standing up to American oil interests but isn't that what free enterprise is all about? Hell, Pat Robertson hates him and wants him dead. Shouldn't that be a sure indication he's got something going for him?
