Sure we play vague...

...but actions speak louder than words. Folks don't change patterns over night. Casey Sheehan was not brought up in a vacuum.

Sure, it's possible that Casey Sheehan embraced the military without consideration of his moter's actions and political belief.

Let's say for argument's sake you're right.

Regardless of whether Casey did it solely on his own beliefs, his mother likely consciously or sub-conscioulyfeels she contributed to his choice to enlist even though she may block those with claims of 'brainwashing'.

Her actions speak volumes.

So the guilt is with her whether Casey's decision was a reactionary move to demonstrate his own independence.

If there was even ONE argument between the two...well the rest is pretty self-evident by the way she's going on. Nothing motivates folks so much as guilt. Religions stay in business because of it and political ideologues use the fire from guilt to drive their passion.

How many extremists drive their children in opposite directions? The entire "me" generation of the sixties were rebelling from their square parents. Now the tables turn and the me generation kids want to be "squares" anything rather than listen to endless anti-Bush drivel.

And now after here son's death all Cindy Sheehan knows how to respond is to engage in sit-in's and protests and whining about what "she" lost.

Pathetic.
