The April issue of SUN magizine has an interview written by Krista Bremer. In this article she interviews Ebrahim Moosa. Quoting Moosa from the beginning of the article: "Historically, Muslim societies have understood that in certain arenas, the voice of religion prevails, and in other arenas, the voice of reason prevails."
This statement can be applied to any religion, especially thoses with an apocalyptic other wordly message (ie. Muslim and Christian). As Sam Harris has pointed out, when these people come to the halls of power they will (without reason) do what they can to bring about their particular end time belief and the rest of us can just be damned.
